Thomas' Poem
I was born on September 2nd, 1666 as a mistake
Thanks to Thomas' Faryner bakery I took all I could take
I am raging flames from Pudding Lane
Making my way through London like a train of pain
I took St Paul's Cathedral regaining power
Many attacked me with water squirts and buckets which felt like a shower
You should thank me I did you a favour
I ended the plague like a caver
Digging out the plagued rats
You can read the diaries and letters if you want the facts
So many people dying
You fools building houses from wood and straw
Now you can rebuild from bricks and more
I will go down in history
As the most terrifying mystery
Leandre's Poem
Smoke sifted its way sneakily up to the rooms,
As we slept, it woke up London with a big BOOM!
Rapidly, we ran into the street,
Covered with soot and wheat.
My beloved bakery is no more,
How it all started, I'm not sure.
I can see smoggy houses on my way,
St Paul’s Cathedral is burning to my dismay.
Rumours are spreading like wildfire,
Dutch spies, polish chickens, my bakery? Liar! Liar!
Charles II explained that a woman could pee the fire out,
Despite Londoners sweltering with doubt.
Long years of disease,
It burned everything including fleas.
Mens hurl their belongings in the freezing Thames,
To protect their furniture with their fems.
The Royal exchange is blazing with all it’s flames,
People were dashing out of it saying they were playing lots of games.
The fire raged through the houses like a rocket,
We try to stop the roaring fire but we need more buckets.
People ran to save their lives,
The fire was fighting like knives.
1 third is engulfed in the light and heat given off by combustion.
It is the size of 900 mansions.
The Duke of York decide to explode all the house,
It worked but the city was in complete chaos.
Sir Christopher Wren knew of this before,
So he rebuilt St Paul’s Cathedral and more…
You can read the diary,
Of Samuel Pepys story.
This 4 days will stay history,
But is it still a mystery?
