Wellbeing Wednesday - Healthy Eating Week

15 Jun 2022

Wellbeing Wednesday

Healthy Eating Week is an annual event created by the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF). Each year, the BNF release a new set of health aims; the message for this year's event is 'Eat Well for you and the Planet'.

We are always thinking about how we can have healthier lives and keeping the planet in our minds at the same time is really important too.

Each day of the week has a different theme and acts as a general reminder of the positive steps we can take.

Remember a small change is still a positive change!

  1. Focus on Fibre - for meals and snacks

  2. Get at least 5 a day - put plenty on your plate

  3. Vary your protein - remember plant based proteins

  4. Stay hydrated - especially in this HOT weather

  5. Reduce food waste - know your portions!

At school we talk about making healthy choices and our lunches are nutritious and varied in order to give children the freedom to eat a balanced diet. We are also focused on reducing our impact on the environment and reducing and recycling are key objectives in our day to day school life.

Have a healthy week! If you want to read more, please see https://www.nutrition.org.uk/healthy-eating-week/
