Wellbeing Wednesday - Anti-bullying week

04 Nov 2026

Anti-Bullying Week 2026 takes place from Monday 9th to Friday 13th November. This year’s theme is
‘Break the Silence’.

Staying silent is never the answer to bullying. Too often, we stay quiet when we see bullying. We may keep our own experiences to ourselves, or call it ‘just banter’. It doesn’t have to be this way. We won’t always get on with everyone, but we can always choose respect and kindness. And we can always choose to speak up.

During the week, we will talk openly about what bullying is, why it can be hard to speak up, and what we can all do to stop it. Whether a child is being bullied or sees it happen, speaking up is the first step to making things better. Together, we can stand up to bullying wherever it happens: in the playground, online or at home.

Odd Socks Day – Monday 9th November
We start the week with Odd Socks Day. Children and staff are invited to wear odd socks to celebrate what makes each of us unique.

Speak out Stay safe workshops (CP, CM1 and CM2) – Wednesday 11th NovemberThese NSPCC workshops help children understand what abuse is and how to spot the signs. Children learn that it is important to speak up when they are worried, to a trusted adult or to Childline (0800 1111).

‘Break the silence' workshops (MS to CE2) – Thursday 12th and Friday 13th November
These drama workshops are run by the company Perform. Children will:
• act out real-life situations to understand what bullying looks like
• learn how body language can help them feel more confident
• practise ways to stand up to bullying through role-play

The workshops aim to help children:
• understand how serious bullying is and how it can affect people
• know how to prevent and stop bullying
• know who they can go to for help
• feel able to take action against bullying

Together, these activities encourage children to think about how we can all work together against bullying, both online and offline.

Thank you for your support. Together, we can make our school and our community a safer and more respectful place for everyone.

Best wishes,
