Wellbeing Wednesday - Anti-Bullying Week 2021

10 Nov 2021

Anti-Bullying Week 2021 - One Kind Word

Anti-Bullying Week 2021 will be taking place from Monday 15th - Friday 19th November and the theme is One Kind Word. It is coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, which is based at leading children's charity the National Children's Bureau. They have worked with over 300 children and young people to decide the theme for this year.

In a world that can sometimes feel like it is filled with negativity, one kind word can provide a moment of hope. It can change someone's perspective. It can change their day. It can change the course of a conversation and break the cycle of bullying.

Best of all, one kind word leads to another. Kindness fuels kindness. So from the playground to Parliament, and from our phones to our homes, together, our actions can fire a chain reaction that powers positivity. It starts with ONE KIND WORD!
We will hold age-appropriate workshops in the hall and discussions in class about what bullying is and the impact it has. We will also be doing the following to help raise awareness and support the Anti-Bullying Alliance charity:

Odd Socks Day - Monday 15th November
Pupils are invited to wear odd socks for the day - any colour or design! This is an opportunity to encourage children to express themselves and celebrate their individuality. The Anti-Bullying Alliance asks participants to make a £1 donation - or any donation you think appropriate to support them in continuing their work. Donations can be made using the following link:

We appreciate your support and look forward to an enjoyable and informative week.

Best wishes,

Emma Getty.
Deputy Head with responsibility for Language Learning, Safeguarding and Pastoral Care
