As the academic year draws to a close, schools worldwide are gearing up for a time-honored tradition: the end-of-year shows and productions. At Ecole Jacques Prévert, these events, organised by the teachers and performed by our pupils from each year group, offer a unique opportunity not only to showcase their talents but also to foster a sense of community and promote wellbeing among students, teachers, and parents alike.

In today's fast-paced world, where academic pressures and extracurricular commitments can sometimes overshadow the importance of holistic development, end-of-year shows serve as a refreshing reminder of the value of creativity, collaboration, and celebration. During our famous “Journée des Arts” and the various shows organised in June, we provide a platform for the children to demonstrate their achievements such as their artistic skills, teamwork abilities, and personal growth over the course of the academic year.

For pupils, participating in end-of-year shows can be a transformative experience. It allows them to step out of their comfort zones, build confidence, and develop valuable life skills such as public speaking, stage presence, and time management. The school hall and classrooms are buzzing with rehearsals and performances, teaching pupils the importance of perseverance, resilience, and working towards a common goal.

Our end-of-year shows also serve as a valuable form of cultural expression and creative exploration. Whether it is a musical performance, a theatrical production, or an art exhibition, these festivities provide the pupils with a platform to showcase their talents and express their unique perspectives on the world. Through music, drama, dance, and visual arts, the children explore themes of identity and diversity, fostering empathy, understanding, and a lovely sense of camaraderie.
