Wellbeing Wednesday - National Walking Month

27 Apr 2022

Wellbeing Wednesday - National Walking Month - May 2022
Take to Your Feet!

May is Living Streets' National Walking Month - this year they are encouraging everyone to 'Try20' and walk for 20 minutes each day during May.

Walking is an easy and accessible way to improve physical and mental health. By swapping a short drive for a short walk, you can reduce air pollution, congestion and road danger - whilst saving yourself some money and getting active in the process!

'Walk to School Week' takes place during National Walking Month and is an annual celebration of the benefits of leaving the car at home and walking to school. It takes place this year during the week 16th - 20th May 2022. Through this challenge, children will be well on their way to reaching their recommended 60 minutes minimum of physical activity per day, before even reaching the school gates. We want to inspire our children to travel to school sustainably, actively, responsibly and safely. This supports everyone's wellbeing, helps reduce congestion at the school gates and improve road safety and air quality.

We would love to see any photos taken on your walk to school - what can you see, what can you hear - please share. Have a great week.

Best wishes,

Mrs Getty.
